L’origine

In the early 2000’s, my feet planted in France, Switzerland living within me, and my hands still somehow rooted in the soil of my parents’ fields, I discovered a language deeper than the back-and-forth between French and Swiss German. A singular, meaningful language: that of photography, painting, pottery, drawing, and writing. Eyes, hands, mind. The body as the first medium of what seeks to emerge.
At seven or eight years old, I threw for the first time what one might call a small vase. The years that followed were devoted to painting and drawing. Between brushes, sketchbooks filled with thoughts, and memory cards filled with photographs, small clay sculptures would sometimes slip in, instinctively. Like a call, barely perceptible yet undeniably present.
In 2023, the call was no longer so quiet, and there I was, sitting once again in front of a potter’s wheel. Since then, that seat has never left me; without ever abandoning my analog camera or my pencil. The practice of ceramics naturally found its place again within an ecosystem that had been waiting for it.
There is within me a fundamental need to experience everything. This quest for experience and learning led me to leave home at an early age to explore the world. Always a notebook with me, I never stopped filling pages with words, drawings, reflections, ideas, and dreams.
My body and mind demand constant movement, however subtle it may be; to feel the world and express it is vital to me.
Is it not, in the end, the case for every human being ?
What my hands create is ultimately nothing more than a reflection of my intimate experience of the world.
Here, it is yours.
